What you can do

Keeping project files and everyday documents organised.

Upload with a clear progress view

Choose files or drag and drop them into Drive. Upload up to ten at a time, with progress and any errors shown as they arrive.

Keep your workspace in order

Create folders, move and star items, and use Recent, Starred and Trash views. Search titles to find what you need.

Look before you download

Preview supported images, PDFs and text files. Download the original bytes when you need a local copy.

Continue in another app

Open a PDF in PDF Studio. Import an uploaded text file into a new Docs document, or a CSV into a new Sheets workbook.

Files and saving

Upload
Files up to 25 MiB each, with up to ten files per upload action.
Preview
PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, PDF and supported plain-text files. Other formats remain downloadable.
Storage
Drive files and saved document versions use the same workspace allowance.
BEFORE YOU START

Know the limits

  • Search looks at item titles, not the contents of files. Word and Excel uploads are stored for download rather than opened as editable documents.
  • The CSV handoff keeps the first 100 rows and 26 columns. The text handoff keeps up to 200 document blocks.
  • Trash remains recoverable and currently does not free storage. Owner-approved expiring view shares are available through the separate sharing approval flow. Folder uploads and device syncing are not available.
Private to your account.

You choose what to share. Approve an expiring view link in Drafts, exports & sharing. Live co-editing is unavailable. Files and saved versions share your 50 MiB allowance.
